A God of War?
The Fall of Jericho
"The LORD has given you this city! The city and everything in it must be totally destroyed as an offering to the LORD...Everything made of silver, gold, bronze, or iron is set apart for the LORD. It is to be put in the LORD's treasury."- Joshua 6: 16-20
The Capture and Destruction of Ai
"The LORD said to Joshua, "Take all the soldiers with you and go on up to Ai. Don't be afraid or discouraged. I will give you victory over the king of Ai; his people, city and land will be yours."-Joshua 8:1
The Amorites Are Defeated
"The LORD said to Joshua, "Do not be afraid of them. I have already given you the victory. Not one of them will be able to stand against you".... The Israelites slaughtered them at Gibeon and pursued them down the mountain pass at Beth Horon, keeping up the attack as far south as Azekah and Makkedah. While the Amorites were running down the pass from the Israelite army, the LORD made large hailstones fall down on them all the way to Azekah. More were killed by the hailstones than by the Israelites." -Joshua 10: 7-12
Joshua Captures More Amorite Territory
"The LORD also gave the Israelites victory over this city and its king. They spared no one, but killed every person in it...The LORD gave the Israelites victory over Lachish on the second day of the battle. Just as they had done at Libnah, they spared no one, but killed every person in the city."- Joshua 10: 30-32
"Next, Joshua and his army went on from Lachish to Eglon, surrounded it and attacked it"- Joshua 10:11
Joshua Defeats Jabin and His Allies
"The LORD said to Joshua, "Do not be afraid of them. By this time tomorrow I will have killed all of them for Israel."- Joshua 11:6
The Territory Taken by Joshua
"So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same. Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them." - Joshua 11: 16-17
"And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities. There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained."- Joshua 11: 21-22
The Land Still to Be Taken
"Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.
2 This is the land that yet remaineth: all the borders of the Philistines, and all Geshuri,
3 From Sihor, which is before Egypt, even unto the borders of Ekron northward, which is counted to the Canaanite: five lords of the Philistines; the Gazathites, and the Ashdothites, the Eshkalonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avites:
4 From the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that is beside the Sidonians unto Aphek, to the borders of the Amorites:
5 And the land of the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the sun rising, from Baalgad under mount Hermon unto the entering into Hamath.
6 All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon unto Misrephothmaim, and all the Sidonians, them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only divide thou it by lot unto the Israelites for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee."- Joshua 13: 1-7
The Tribes of Judah and Simeon Capture Adonibezek
"After the death of Joshua, the Israelites asked the Lord, “Who of us is to go up first to fight against the Canaanites?” The Lord answered, “Judah shall go up; I have given the land into their hands.”The men of Judah then said to the Simeonites their fellow Israelites, “Come up with us into the territory allotted to us, to fight against the Canaanites. We in turn will go with you into yours.” So the Simeonites went with them. When Judah attacked, the Lord gave the Canaanites and Perizzites into their hands, and they struck down ten thousand men at Bezek."- Judges 1-5
By now it should be clear to the reader that this God was not a peaceful God, but a murderous invader of lands and a thief of precious metals. Although this may anger many people and call this blasphemous, how else could you interpret these texts? If our Army did the same in foreign lands would we not say the same or are we too set in our ways that the ends justifies the means? Yet since when has a powerful and Almighty God had to physically take preoccupied territory and all the belongings within especially when He created it all?
We should now begin to see a pattern of invasion, robbery, murder and complete destruction. This is not what most would have in mind when thinking of a righteous, peaceful and powerful God. So who was this being? It is strongly believed that the Church has been infiltrated by followers of Satan throughout the centuries. Archbishops of the church themselves are convinced of this as we see for example with the Open Letter to former president Donald J. Trump by Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano. "They" are currently setting the stage for the coming of the Antichrist as says in 1 John 2:18, 22; 4:3; 2 John 7. Or is he already here perhaps? Biblical texts have been altered and modified many times throughout history without a question. The question we should be asking ourselves is to whom have we really been worshipping?
