Issac, Rebekah, and the Struggle of Nations;

Isaac was 40 years old when he married Rebekah (an Aramean from Mesopotamia). Rebekah became pregnant with twins.

When the TWINS were born, Scripture records:

"The first one was reddish, and his skin was like a hairy robe, so he was named Esau. The second one was born holding on tightly to the heel of Esau, so he was named Jacob."-Genesis 25:25-26

Esau became the father of the Edomites, Israels rival nation. Scripture describes him as red & hairy and portrays him as the biblical enemy of Jacob (Israel). While both brothers were born of the same womb, their destinies were divided. Jacob/Israel would inherit the covenant promise, while Esau's descendants built the kingdom of Edom.

This fulfills the prophecy "the older will serve the younger", as Jacob carried the covenant line, while Esau forfeited his birthright.

The Exchange of the Birthright

The turning point comes in a simple but decisive moment:

""Once when Jacob was cooking stew, Esau came in from the field, and he was exhausted. 30 And Esau said to Jacob, “Let me eat some of that red stew, for I am exhausted!” (Therefore his name was called Edom.[a]) 31 Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright now.” 32 Esau said, “I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me?” 33 Jacob said, “Swear to me now.” So he swore to him and sold his birthright to Jacob. 34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank and rose and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright."

"When Jacob returned from Mesopotamia , God appeared to him again and blessed him. God blessed him. God said to him, " Your name is Jacob, but from now on it will be Israel." So God named him Israel."

Israel was NEVER a geographical location but the name given to Jacob and his descendants. The Balfour Declaration was a public statement issued by the British Government (Royals & Rothschilds) during WWI announcing support to establish a "national home for the "Jewish" people" in Palestine. The United Nations (founded in 1945 by the same groups mentioned above) officially declared Israel an independent state in May 1948 during WWII.

Israel: A People, NOT a place

When God named Jacob, Israel (Gen35:9-11), He was not naming a territory but instead referring to a covenant people. From Jacob's Twelve Sons became the tribes of Israel, who carried the promises given to Abraham, Issac, and Jacob.

Over time, these tribes became scattered, exiled to Assyria, Babylon, and later dispersed across the earth. This is where the "Lost Tribes of Israel". They are not lost. The identities have just been

Distinction Matters:

Ancient Israel= the covenant descendants of Jacob

Modern Israel (1948-present) = a state established after the Balfour Declaration (1917. Formalized 1948), drawing people from European backgrounds, including Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews who do NOT trace to Jacob's bloodline. Hence "Jew-ISH".

The name Palestine comes from Philistia, the land of the Philistines who settled along the southern coast of Canaan in the 12th century BCE. The term later appeared in Greek sources such as Herodotus (Palaistinē) to describe the region, and the Romans adopted the usage, referring to the territory as Syria Palaestina after 135 CE.

The Prophetic Warning:

Revelation speaks of those "who say they are Jews and are NOT" (Rev. 2:9,3:9).

Ashkenazi Jews refers to "Jewish" settlers from Germany who originated in Eastern Europe.

"I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan."-Revelation 2.9

"Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee."- Revelation 3:9
